The new, multilayered stages composed from bric a brac are charming to the max. In terms of presentation, this as good as anything Nintendo has produced, which is an incredible accomplishment. Does Crafted World rank as one of the Switch’s best platformers?

This is a simple collectathon at heart that never really attempts to strive to be anything more. Children and those craving a cutesy cathartic adventure will love this new Yoshi entry, but those looking for a challenge are better off looking elsewhere. Effing Crap Dood This Game is Amaze-balls! This game immediately fits into my personal pantheon of all time video game classics!
Because it is FUN! And its relaxing! And it kicks ass in a creative and charming way.
Each level truly feels hand crafted and made with love. This game is very easy to enjoy, like seriously grab some cookies and milk because this game will make you feel like youre ten years old; in awe of some fresh Nintendo magic! This game is also PERFECT to play with kids!
My 7 year old daughter jumped right in and loved it instantly. They even have a mellow mode where you can basically fly with Yoshi and death is almost non existent. The colors, characters and level design are all top notch. Controls are tight and dood just this game just has that classic awesome video game feel to it! This defines the Yoshi franchise, this is an addicting, innocent and lovely game that I think all gamers should experience.
This is by far one This defines the Yoshi franchise, this is an addicting, innocent and lovely game that I think all gamers should experience. This is by far one of the most creative/original games I've seen on the switch. The collectibles in this game keep making me want to come back to the levels to find them all, personally, I haven't got all of the collectibles myself, but I have finished the main storyline. This is one of the best Yoshi games out there for new players and returning players. In most of my reviews, I've pointed out that I don't care about the graphics, but the character in this game (Baby Bowser) looks exactly like Bowser Jr.
Without the bib and it's not his original style for Baby Bowser and that kind of disappointed me and it felt like the developers were being lazy with his character model, but that's just a minor fault of the developers. Also, the cutscenes are short, simple, and interactive and the way the bosses form is just brilliant, it takes you back to when you were a kid and you imagined every piece of furniture/scraps/machines/art/everyday items as an entity that had a personality attached to it. This game is so crafty and distracts you from how the real world is, the music is catchy and pleasant. I've also wondered why black and white Yoshi are not in this game?
Overall an amazing experience, especially the Poochy and Poochy Pups mechanic that just makes the game a lot more fun. The multiplayer kind of changes the pace of things, but you get a laugh out of it.
Especially the riding on each other part, that cracked me up, like Yoshi attack ride! Also, those mini-games are on point! Satisfying game. This game is the logical evolution of this saga. The soundtrack may be scarce at first, but it perfectly fuses with the gameplay so that you are not aware of the repetition of some themes. This game is the perfect opportunity to experience a relaxed trip through the crafted worlds with one of our favourite characters. Yoshi's Crafted World is a light hearted addition to the series and is a perfect fit for anyone looking for a stress free, laid back Yoshi's Crafted World is a light hearted addition to the series and is a perfect fit for anyone looking for a stress free, laid back experience. The gameplay is pretty standard: go through each level and find all the collectibles. If you're the type who enjoys finding absolutely everything, then there is plenty here for you to find. The visuals are truly unique due to everything being 'crafted': objects are taped together, environments use carboard boxes and strings, colors are vibrant and it all comes together to make a fantastic, charming experience. The music, I found, is incredibly lacking.
Most levels will feature the same soundtrack with a few different ones here and there; however, even those I found to be mediocre. Every level, mini boss, and boss are very easy and don't offer much of a challenge; but, despite the lack of challenge, Yoshi's Crafted World is incredibly fun and I think that matters most. All in all, if you own a Switch, and can't decide to pick this one up, don't hesitate and have a blast with this welcome addition to the series. I went into this game expecting to like it as much as I liked Yoshi's Woolly World.
I though Woolly World was just OK. Not bad, not amazing. I went into this game expecting to like it as much as I liked Yoshi's Woolly World. I though Woolly World was just OK. Not bad, not amazing. But I liked Crafted World a lot more.
The level design and mechanics were really good (special shoutout to Afraid of the Dark and Solar Zoom) and each level had very good aesthetics to compliment them. While the first romp through is a lot of fun, I did find getting all the collectibles rather boring and monotonous. And the bosses are too easy. But other than that, I had a lot of fun with this game.
I'd recommend it.
